Research Triangle Park, NC - The Freelon Group's entire staff swapped office dress, computers and drafting pencils for overalls and hammers as they dedicated an entire work day to building houses for Habitat for Humanity of Wake County recently.
"Our firm endorses Habitat for Humanity of Wake County's mission of providing home ownership and self help techniques to homeowners," says Phil Freelon, president of The Freelon Group. "We believe strongly enough in this cause that we paid our staff their regular salaries and asked them to spend the day working for Habitat."
The Freelon Group's 42 staff members from Research Triangle Park and Charlotte spent the day siding, framing and roofing on three houses at Habitat's Biltmore Trace subdivision in Raleigh. This is the first time that The Freelon Group has volunteered an entire day to Habitat for Humanity.
"It is very helpful to have extra help during the week," says Peter Farquhar, resource development coordinator with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. "Having the strong support on Friday gives us a good running start for the weekend."
