RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC -- Philip Freelon, founder and president of The Freelon Group Architects, is serving a two-year term on the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) National Register of Peer Professionals. The National Register is part of the GSA's nationwide Design and Construction Excellence Program, which strives to improve the quality of public buildings. Peer professionals assist the GSA with specific projects based on their expertise and geographic location.
Freelon joins 102 other GSA private-sector peers from across the nation, including Raleigh-based architect Frank Harmon, FAIA, and David Brown, director of the Southeast Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) in Winston-Salem.
The Freelon Group is a 54-person architectural firm founded by Philip G. Freelon, FAIA (Fellow, American Institute of Architects) in 1990. The firm provides services nationwide with offices in the Research Triangle Park and Charlotte, North Carolina.
